The school continues to have a range of outside links. These are very important
in ensuring that the work we do with students prepares them well for the world
beyond school once they leave us.
As a school we run a range of trips to places both within and beyond the U.K.
Thes trips play a vital role in the education of students and they are one
of the things that students remember most once they have left school.
Other links are those where we work with outside organisations within school.
A new link here has been our work establishing a school bank for students and
NatWest have been working with us to set this up.
Over the coming months we shall be establishing other business links as part
of our specialist status bid. As these develop we will keep you informed through
the web site and our newsletter.
Equally important are our links with other education providers. We work closely
with our neighbouring primary schools so that students coming here have a smooth
induction programme. We also work with the other Witham secondary school Rickstones,
in a number of areas. Firstly we are working with them and other North Essex
secondary schools on new approaches to teaching in the 14–19 phase
and the senior staff of the two schools have begun to have joint management
meetings to discuss mutually important issues.
