Healthy Schools Award

The government want all schools to be healthy by 2004 and to this end have produced a National Healthy School Standard or a set of criteria against which the school is measured for promoting all types of health.

LATEST: GOAL - National Academy of Gifted and Talented Youth (NAGTY). Some of our gifted and talented students are eligible to join NAGTY. NAGTY requires that students have achieved or exceeded set marks in the CAT tests that they sit in Year 7 or in the YELLIS tests that they take in Year.  Read more

WE'RE EGGCITED UPDATE
We are setting up a chicken run at school and on Tues 11th March we will take delivery of 10 rescued battery hens.We will be selling our hens eggs (ungraded) from reception at a competitive price and the money will go back in to maintaining the hens, their feed and supplies.   Read more

JBS CONTINUES TO ESTABLISH LINKS WITH THE WIDER COMMUNITY. These include assembly visits by external speakers and agency representatives and multi-agency days.  Read more

JBS Participates in the APAUSE programme, led by Exeter University. This involves the training of 'peers' and health professionals to facilitate lessons. At JBS students receive APAUSE lessons as part of the PSHE program. Thirteen year 12 students have been trained as APAUSE peer mentors.  Read more
