Healthy Schools

Involving the Whole School Community

In order to gain the support and commitment to a healthy school programme a school task group with a co-ordinator was set up representing the whole school community, including pupils, staff and governors.  It is hoped that in the future this will be extended to include parents/carers and other local support agencies and partners.

An audit identified that we already had many good projects underway and were  making good progress in specific areas covered by the healthy schools initiative.

Theme Areas:

  • Personal Social and Health Education
  • Citizenship
  • Drugs, alcohol and tobacco
  • Emotional health and well being
  • Healthy eating
  • Physical activity
  • Safety
  • Sex and relationships education
