When students enter the school they are placed
in a tutor group. Each group has a tutor who is responsible for
ensuring that the students are making the best of their opportunities
at school.
The head of year co-ordinates the work of the tutors and has the
overall responsibility for all the students within the year group.
Thus each child will have at least two teachers who will know about
strengths, weaknesses, progress in academic work, involvement in
extra-curricular activities and any other matters which may affect
the child's well-being at school.
“The school makes very good provision for the welfare
of the students. The school has a very effective pastoral system
in
which each student
is valued and their strengths applauded. Any weaknesses are quickly
identified and appropriate support provided.”
